The leading goalscorers in CONMEBOL Sudamericana history

Hernán Barcos, máximo goleador de la CONMEBOL Sudamericana, celebra su gol con Alianza Lima
  • Argentine Hernán Barcos is the competition's all-time leading goalscorer, with 20 goals.

  • Tomás Cuello of Atlético Mineiro, Luciano of São Paulo and Racing's Adrián Martínez scored three goals each in the current edition and climbed the rankings.

At the age of 42, forward Hernán Barcos — born in Bell Ville — holds the record for the most goals scored in CONMEBOL Sudamericana history.

The 'Pirata' has 20 goals in nine editions of the competition, having represented six different clubs, although he has never finished a campaign as the tournament's top scorer. The Córdoba-born forward made his debut in the Great Conquest with Paraguayan side Guaraní in 2005.

He then played for Liga de Quito (15 goals), Palmeiras (2), Atlético Nacional (2) and Alianza Lima (1). In the current edition, he made just two appearances for Sporting Cristal without scoring, with the Peruvian side losing 1-0 on aggregate to Red Bull Bragantino in the Round of 16 Playoffs.

The 2026 edition of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana has brought changes to the competition's all-time goalscoring chart. Racing's Argentine forward Adrián Martínez and São Paulo's Brazilian striker Luciano both scored three goals — taking their personal tallies to 14 — and made a significant jump to eighth place in the rankings.

Tomás Cuello, the Atlético Mineiro forward, also scored three times in this year's tournament — all of them decisive goals in the Knockout Stage — to reach nine in the competition. The Argentine forward scored in both legs of the Round of 16 against Red Bull Bragantino and in the quarter-final second leg, in the 4-2 victory over Santos that forced a penalty shoot-out and sent the 'Galo' through to the final four.

Artur, the São Paulo winger who was eliminated by Boca Juniors in the quarter-finals, scored twice to reach Tomás Cuello's tally of nine goals in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana. Both came during the Group Stage, in 2-0 home victories over O'Higgins and Boston River.
