PUMA and CONMEBOL unveil the official match ball for the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Final

Conmebol Libertadores y PUMA

PUMA and the South American Football Confederation have unveiled a special edition of CUMBRE, the official match ball for the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Final. The ball will take centre stage on Saturday, 28 November, at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, where Palmeiras and Estudiantes de La Plata will battle to be crowned champions of South America.

This version of CUMBRE has been designed exclusively for the showpiece match. Against a white base, black and gold stripes sweep across the surface, forming flowing curves around the PUMA Cat, which appears in black alongside the competition logo. The gold detailing pays tribute to the trophy and Eternal Glory, the most coveted prize in South American club football. The name CUMBRE, meaning 'summit', symbolises the pinnacle every club strives to reach, with the final representing the last step towards that achievement.

The final also comes with a history of its own. Palmeiras and Estudiantes previously met in the Libertadores in 1968, when their tie was decided by a play-off match also held at the Estadio Centenario. Nearly six decades later, the same stadium will once again bring the two sides together.

CUMBRE is the official match ball of the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana, carrying FIFA Quality Pro certification. The special final edition retains the same construction used by players throughout the tournament. Its 12 equally sized panels ensure even weight distribution. High-frequency moulding helps the ball retain its shape, reduces water absorption and provides a soft touch. Wider, deeper seams and a 3D-textured surface contribute to a more stable flight.

Inside, a new POE foam layer provides a firm touch and more consistent bounce. The reinforced rubber bladder and PUMA Air Lock valve improve air retention, ensuring the ball maintains the same feel from the first minute to the last.

CUMBRE, the official match ball of the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Final, will be available from 28 October at PUMA.com and PUMA stores.

About CONMEBOL

The South American Football Confederation, better known as CONMEBOL (an acronym derived from the name Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol, as used in telegraphic communications), is the confederation of South America's national football associations (federations).

Founded on 9 July 1916 in Buenos Aires, it is the world's oldest football confederation, established almost 40 years before the confederations that followed.

CONMEBOL emerged from the organisation of a tournament between South American nations. The first Copa América, held in Buenos Aires in 1916 to commemorate the centenary of Argentina's independence, marked the beginning of the institution, which was originally made up of the football associations of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. The remaining South American associations subsequently joined CONMEBOL: Paraguay (1921), Peru (1925), Bolivia (1926), Ecuador (1927), Colombia (1936) and Venezuela (1953).

It is the only football confederation in which all member associations are also affiliated with FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Its ten Member Associations are CONMEBOL's greatest source of pride.
