Corinthians and Cruzeiro to contest the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina Final

Corinthians, nuevamente finalista de la CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina
  • Defending champions Corinthians came from behind to overcome a tough challenge from Independiente Santa Fe and reach their fourth consecutive Final.

  • Cruzeiro also celebrated on the second matchday fixture, setting up an all-Brazilian showdown against the reigning champions in a high-stakes Final.

The 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina Final is set, with Corinthians and Cruzeiro winning their respective semi-final ties to book their places in the decider, which will take place next Saturday at Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado in Quito, Ecuador.

The reigning champions had to come from behind after falling a goal down. In a demanding contest against Independiente Santa Fe, they showed their quality to secure another place in the Final of The Glory is Theirs — their fourth in a row — with a 2-1 victory.

Cruzeiro, meanwhile, continue to impress and have reached the Grand Final on their debut in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina. Jonas Urias' side beat Olimpia 1-0 thanks to Marília Furiel's goal and will face Timão for the continental title.

Corinthians 2-1 Independiente Santa Fe

The Brabas, the reigning champions, booked their place in another Final after a contest that began on the back foot against the Colombian side.

Duda Sampaio came close to opening the scoring in the early stages. The Corinthians forward received the ball out wide and opened up her body to curl a left-footed effort towards the top-right corner of Jimena Ospina's goal, but the crossbar denied her. Santa Fe's response was immediate and decisive. In the 29th minute, Daniela Garavito ran in behind onto a long pass and capitalised on a lapse in the São Paulo side's defence to go one-on-one with Lelê. She kept her composure to finish and put the Colombian team ahead.

The equaliser, which provided temporary relief for the Brazilian side, arrived before half-time following a well-worked team move. Vic Albuquerque laid the ball off with her chest for Leticia Monteiro, who unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box to level the score.

Early in the second half, the experienced Brazilian goalkeeper produced a fine save to deny a dangerous effort from Venezuelan forward Tahicelis Marcano, in a chance that could have changed the course of the match in Las Leonas' favour. Emily Lima's side weathered Santa Fe's attacking pressure and, once they regained their footing, made their individual quality count. A poor clearance from defender Andrea Pérez fell to Gi Fernandes, who made no mistake when faced with Ospina, firing Corinthians into a 2-1 lead. Las Brabas could have extended their advantage in the dying moments of the semi-final, but Albuquerque's header drifted just wide.

Cruzeiro 1-0 Olimpia

The first half was closely contested, with plenty of physical battles in midfield and few clear-cut chances. Cruzeiro came closest to breaking the deadlock when Gaby delivered an accurate cross for Byanca Brasil, whose header narrowly failed to beat Olimpia goalkeeper Luana Rodríguez.

The Cabulosas eventually made their pressure count five minutes into the second half. Byanca's free-kick struck the crossbar, and Marília Furiel reacted quickest to the rebound, turning the ball home to give the Belo Horizonte side a 1-0 lead.

Olimpia, coached by Diego Urán, had reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history after eliminating Deportivo Cali. The Paraguayan side pushed for an equaliser, but struggled to turn their determination into clear attacking opportunities as Cruzeiro stood firm defensively.

In the final minute of five added on, Camila Rodrigues became the hero of the night in the Ecuadorian capital with a memorable save, sealing Cruzeiro's place in their first Final of the continent's leading club competition.
