Cruzaeiro se clasificó en la CONMEBOL Libertadores femenina
  • Cruzeiro beat Bolívar 3-0 and reached the Quarter-finals with a matchday to spare.

  • Deportivo Cali beat Nacional, while Libertad and Olimpia also picked up three points.

A day after a goal-filled Sunday, the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina completed the second matchday of the Group Stage in Quito with four matches and no draws. Cruzeiro qualified for the Quarter-finals with a matchday to spare thanks to Byanca Brasil’s hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Bolívar, and Deportivo Cali beat Nacional 2-0 in a match that was halted for more than an hour because of lightning storms.

To close the matchday, Libertad beat Universidad de Chile 2-1 and drew level with Deportivo Cali on four points in Group D, which will decide its two qualifiers on the final matchday. In Group C, Olimpia beat Liga de Quito 1-0 with a late goal from Micaela Valdez and moved into second place, behind Cruzeiro.

After Tuesday’s rest day, the final matchday of the Group Stage will begin on Wednesday with Groups A and B: Independiente Santa Fe will face Corinthians and Colo-Colo will take on Caracas, while Palmeiras will meet Independiente del Valle and Belgrano will play Universitario. Thursday will feature Universidad de Chile vs. Deportivo Cali, Libertad vs. Nacional, Olimpia vs. Cruzeiro and Liga de Quito vs. Bolívar.

Cruzeiro 3-0 Bolívar

Cruzeiro beat Bolívar 3-0 at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado and qualified for the Quarter-finals of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina with a matchday to spare. The standout was Byanca Brasil, who scored all three goals in the second half: the forward now has four in the tournament, after the one she scored against Liga de Quito in the opener.

The first half ended goalless, although Cruzeiro created the clearest chances: Vanessinha tested goalkeeper Enyuli López and also came close with a cross-shot that went just past the post. Bolívar also threatened, forcing a good response from Camila Rodrigues. At half-time, the Brazilian side made three changes and opened the scoring 6 minutes into the second half: after a Marília Furiel shot hit the crossbar, Byanca Brasil got past a defender and the goalkeeper to finish.

The forward doubled the lead 29 minutes into the second half with a free kick that went in at the far post, near the top corner, and completed her hat-trick two minutes from time by chipping a penalty after a foul on Gaby. The ‘Cabulosas’ have six points and have already secured their place in the next round. On Thursday they will close the Group Stage against Olimpia, while Bolívar, with one point, will face Liga de Quito.

Deportivo Cali 2-0 Nacional

Deportivo Cali beat Nacional 2-0 at the Estadio Banco Guayaquil, in a match that was halted for more than an hour because of lightning storms, and moved up to four points in Group D of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina. Ingrid Guerra and Daniela Castellanos scored for the Colombian side, who had drawn with Libertad on the first matchday.

Play was stopped 30 minutes into the first half because of weather conditions around the stadium and resumed just over an hour later. Cali, who had been dangerous until then with crosses from Paula Medina and Angie Salazar, took the lead with a cross-shot from Ingrid Guerra 39 minutes into the first half.

In the second half, Karla Viancha tried twice from distance and the Nacional goalkeeper saved a Paula Medina free kick. Around the midway point of the second half, the ‘Azucareras’ made three changes, and one of the substitutes, Daniela Castellanos, doubled the lead 33 minutes into the second half with a left-footed shot. On Thursday, Cali will face Universidad de Chile, while Nacional, with one point, will meet Libertad.

The match in numbers:

  • Deportivo Cali have won 14 of their 22 matches in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina (5D 3L), equalling the highest number of wins by a Colombian team in the history of the tournament, set by Formas Íntimas (29 played, 14W 4D 11L).

  • Since 2022, Ingrid Guerra has scored six goals in 12 matches in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina, a tally bettered by only one Colombian player in the tournament: Mariana Zamorano (seven).

  • Natalia Hernández (Deportivo Cali) is the fifth player to score after coming off the bench in a match of the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina, and the youngest to do so in this edition (21 years and 273 days).

  • Eight of Deportivo Cali’s 16 shots against Nacional came from Ingrid Guerra (four) and Karla Viancha (four). It was the first time two players from the Colombian side had four shots each in the same CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina match since October 2022, against Ferroviária: Elexa Bahr (five) and Ingrid Guerra (six).

  • Paula Medina is the first Deportivo Cali player to provide an assist and create three or more chances in a CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina match since Ingrid Guerra (one and three) and Lady Andrade (one and three) against Always Ready in October 2022.

  • Alison Latúa (Nacional) won 11 of her 13 duels in the match against Deportivo Cali; no player has won more in a single match of the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina (Kelly Ibargüen also won 11 for Santa Fe against Colo-Colo).

Liga de Quito 0-1 Olimpia

Olimpia beat Liga de Quito 1-0 at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado with a late goal from Micaela Valdez and moved into second place in Group C of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina with four points, behind Cruzeiro, who have already qualified for the Quarter-finals.

Liga de Quito’s Marcela Quiñónez was booked 31 minutes into the first half, which ended goalless. Olimpia brought on Micaela Valdez 13 minutes into the second half, and the home side were reduced to ten players 26 minutes into the second half, when Quiñónez received a second yellow card.

With an extra player on the pitch, Olimpia found the goal 45 minutes into the second half: Valdez scored the winner that gave the Paraguayan side their first victory of this edition. On Thursday, Olimpia will face Cruzeiro, while Liga de Quito will meet Bolívar.

Libertad 2-1 Universidad de Chile

Libertad beat Universidad de Chile 2-1 at the Estadio Banco Guayaquil to earn their first win in Group D of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina. With four points, the Paraguayan side drew level with Deportivo Cali with one matchday left in the Group Stage.

Libertad took the lead 11 minutes into the first half through Paola Genes, assisted by Liz Peña, and doubled their advantage 27 minutes into the first half, when María Tamay broke clear and finished to make it 2-0. Universidad de Chile came close to pulling one back 36 minutes into the first half with a Valentina Díaz shot that hit the post, and the Paraguayan side went into the break two goals up.

In the second half, the ‘U’ pushed to pull one back: Valentina Díaz tested goalkeeper Gloria Saleb from distance 21 minutes into the second half, and Rebeca Fernández hit the crossbar 24 minutes into the second half. The reward came 42 minutes into the second half, when Constanza Santander, who had come on shortly before, finished from the edge of the six-yard box to make it 2-1. On Thursday, Libertad will face Nacional and Universidad de Chile will meet Deportivo Cali.
