Everything is in place for the CONMEBOL Women's Futsal Libertadores 2026 to get underway. From 7 to 14 November, Buenos Aires will host the continent's premier women's futsal club competition, bringing together ten teams.

The tournament will feature representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, divided into two groups of five teams each. The Group Stage will run from Saturday, 7 November, to Wednesday, 11 November. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Semi-finals, where they will compete for a place in the title decider.

It will be a special edition for South American women's futsal. For the first time in the tournament's history, Argentina will host the competition, with Ferro Carril Oeste serving as both the local representative and host club in an event featuring some of the region's leading teams.

A history of Brazilian dominance

Since its inaugural edition in 2013, the CONMEBOL Women's Futsal Libertadores has had one dominant force: Brazil. All ten titles contested to date have been won by Brazilian clubs, establishing a remarkable record of sustained dominance throughout the tournament's history.

Unochapecó (2013 and 2017), Barateiro (2015 and 2016), Leões da Serra (2018), Cianorte (2019), Taboão Magnus (2022 and 2025) and Stein Cascavel (2023 and 2024) are the clubs that have claimed continental glory.

In this new edition, Stein Cascavel will face a special challenge: claiming another crown and becoming the first club to win three titles in the competition's history. The Brazilian side arrive in Buenos Aires hoping to extend their impressive run of success and add another star to their honours list.

Group A

Ferro Carril Oeste (Argentina)

The hosts will have added motivation as they prepare to make their CONMEBOL Women's Futsal Libertadores debut. The reigning Argentine First Division champions and 2026 Supercopa winners will look to carry their strong domestic form onto the continental stage.

Led by head coach Nicolás Basualdo, the Caballito-based side will count on Lucía 'Luly' Rossi and Lara Villalba among their key players, both of whom are also members of the Argentina national team.

Peñarol (Uruguay)

The 'Carboneras' will make their third appearance in the tournament, having reached the Semi-finals in 2025. Andrés Izquierdo's side secured qualification by winning the 2025 Uruguayan Women's Championship.

Peñarol will be without a key player for this edition, as captain Mariana Crocano has been ruled out through injury. The club have brought in Venezuelan player Carla Crespo as her replacement, strengthening their squad as they aim to make another significant impact on the continental stage.

Víctor Muriel (Bolivia)

The Cochabamba-based side will return to South America's premier club competition for their second consecutive appearance in the CONMEBOL Women's Futsal Libertadores. Having claimed the 2025 National Championship title, they will have another opportunity to represent Bolivian futsal and compete for a place among the continent's best teams.

Caracas FC (Venezuela)

The Venezuelan side will arrive in Buenos Aires as the reigning 2026 Liga FUTVE Futsal Femenina champions, having secured the title with victory over Tigres FS.

Under head coach Gimino Tropiano, Caracas will look to build on their domestic success on the continental stage, with the clear ambition of establishing themselves as one of the leading contenders in Group A.

Mecatrónica (Peru)

The Peruvian side earned their place in the tournament by winning the 2025 Women's Futsal First Division title. They will make history in Buenos Aires as they prepare for their first-ever appearance in the competition, ready to go head-to-head with some of the continent's top teams.

Group B

Stein Cascavel (Brazil)

The two-time champions will be among the leading contenders for the title. Founded in 2019 and based in the city of Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, the Brazilian club will aim to achieve an unprecedented feat: becoming the first team to win three editions of the CONMEBOL Women's Futsal Libertadores.

Coached by Márcio Coelho, who also serves as assistant coach of the Brazil national team, Stein Cascavel arrive with a talented squad featuring two Brazil internationals: Luana Rodrigues and Bianca Castagnaro.

Goalkeeper Bianca Castagnaro and Luana Rodrigues, a key figure in defence, will play important roles in the team's setup. In attack, Amandinha and Jaque Nunes will provide experience and attacking flair, while Giovanna Karine stands out as one of their main goalscoring threats.

The Brazilian side arrive with competitive momentum, having recently secured a place in the Campeonato Paranaense final, where they will face Copagril.

Exa Ysaty (Paraguay)

The three-time Paraguayan champions will return to the continental stage for their third appearance in the CONMEBOL Women's Futsal Libertadores. They will be looking to take another step forward and compete for one of the two available places in the Semi-finals.

Llaneros (Colombia)

The Colombian side secured qualification by winning the 2026 National Women's Interclub Futsal Championship under head coach Berley Villa Restrepo.

This will be their second appearance in the tournament, following their debut in 2024. Angie Carolina Ortiz, the leading goalscorer in the qualifying competition, will be one of the players to watch.

Universidad de Chile (Chile)

The 'Azules' will make their fourth CONMEBOL Libertadores appearance and their third in succession. The Chilean side will have a particular objective in Buenos Aires: advancing beyond the Group Stage for the first time and securing a place among the continent's top four teams.

Club La Unión (Ecuador)

The Ecuadorian national champions will return to South America's premier club competition. On their tournament debut in 2024, La Unión finished among the top five teams, a result that has strengthened their hopes of making another impact on the continental stage.

In this edition, Eli Daniel Paz's side will aim to replicate that impressive performance and take another step forward in their international development.
