HBO Max, the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and Offline Sports have announced that HBO Max will exclusively premiere today “CONMEBOL Libertadores 2026: Eternal Glory”, the first official documentary series dedicated to South America’s leading club competition. The regional agreement covers Spanish-speaking Latin American countries and Brazil.
Produced by Offline Sports in partnership with CONMEBOL, the 11-episode series follows the 2026 edition from the group stage through to the Grand Final. The series connects the tournament’s history and legacy with the stories being written today, culminating in a special episode dedicated to the champions’ journey towards Eternal Glory.
Its key distinguishing feature is an unprecedented production and release model for a series in the region. Rather than waiting until the competition has concluded, the production teams capture, edit and complete new episodes while the tournament is still underway. From the quarter-finals onwards, each batch of episodes will be released before the start of the following stage, allowing audiences to relive what has just happened and approach each new round with greater context, proximity and emotion, sharing the protagonists’ experiences in near real time.
Across the continent, cameras follow players and coaching staff both on and off the pitch: in dressing rooms, tunnels, at training sessions, team hotels, during journeys and in other spaces normally beyond the public’s reach. Exclusive interviews, unseen footage, historical archives and contributions from South American football legends build a narrative that evolves with the competition and reveals everything that happens before and after each match.
“This series represents a new step in the way we bring the CONMEBOL Libertadores closer to millions of fans across the continent. For the first time, we will be able to show, from the inside, stories, emotions and moments that do not normally reach the public, while also following the competition’s development almost in real time. We want fans to experience Eternal Glory like never before, with unique access to their clubs and the people at the heart of them,” said Juan Emilio Roa, Commercial Director of CONMEBOL.

HBO Max will exclusively premiere the first four episodes of the series today, featuring unseen material from the group stage of the CONMEBOL Libertadores. A further three episodes, covering the Round of 16, will be released on 11 September, followed by two episodes covering the quarter-finals on 9 October. The episode dedicated to the semi-finals will be available on 13 November, while the chapter covering the Grand Final will be released on 4 December.
