Giants’ Cup: the Libertadores champions set to play in the 2026 Sudamericana

Botafogo campeón Libertadores

Winning South America is an achievement everyone desires, but only a few manage to accomplish. And the 2026 CONMEBOL Sudamericana promises to be even more challenging. 10 teams in the tournament have already conquered the ultimate glory of the CONMEBOL Libertadores.

The most decorated among them is River Plate. Managed by Eduardo Coudet, the Argentine side has won four Libertadores titles and also lifted the Sudamericana in 2014. Their most recent triumph is unforgettable: a victory over archrivals Boca Juniors in 2018.

After River Plate, three Brazilian clubs and one Paraguayan side have three titles each: Grêmio, Santos, São Paulo, and Olimpia. The list is completed by Brazil’s Atlético Mineiro, Botafogo, and Vasco da Gama, as well as Argentina’s Racing and San Lorenzo.

The path toward the title begins to take shape this Thursday, March 19, with the draw scheduled for 20:00 (Paraguay time) at CONMEBOL’s headquarters in Luque, Paraguay.

The CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage draw can be followed live on the tournament’s official YouTube channel, where the ceremony will be broadcast across the entire continent.
